This position is 100% responsible to a grant.
FUNCTION: Implement activities supporting the
mission of the Convergence Technology Center, under the direction of the CTC
Executive Director (PI). Coordinate
all educational programs, workshops, symposiums and other outreach activities.
Manage the center’s operation, budget and program evaluation process.
REPORTS TO: Principal
Investigator, CTC Grant
SUPERVISES: Project Assistant, Assessment Consultants and Curriculum
Developers.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job
Functions:
1) With
direction and input from the grant’s Executive Leadership Team (composed of the
Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigators for the CTC grant),
implement the activities supporting the mission, goals and objectives of the
Convergence Technology Center. This effort includes monthly reporting on budget
variance and projections, project status and program plans. It also includes preparation of the annual report
to the National Science Foundation.
2) Coordinate
all educational programs, workshops, symposiums and other outreach activities
as outlined in the grant’s goals and objectives.
3) In
conjunction with the Executive Leadership Team, estabish the CTC’s Advisory
Committee, and coordinate the defining of roles, responsibilities and functions
of the committee. Coordinate Advisory
Committee meetings.
4) Work
with college partners, publishers, businesses, trade organizations and other
interested parties to perform a job task analysis, curriculum identification
and gap analysis in the field of Convergence Technology as a foundation for
creating a suite of courses appropriate for training Convergence Technicians.
5) Coordinate
the piloting of the curriculum, as well as evaluating its effectiveness.
6) Assist
the Center’s college partners in determining faculty training needs in
Convergence Technologies and manage the creation of workshops on Convergence
Technology for high school teachers and college faculty including educational
summits. Assist Center’s Director in
providing Convergence Technology tracks at the Working Connections IT Faculty
Development Institute and other appropriate venues.
7) Spearhead
activities to recruit and attract underserved populations of students into
Convergence Technology programs, including creating mobile workshops for
faculty and information sessions for prospective students and their families.
This effort includes working with existing retention programs to adapt their
scope to include Convergence Technology as part of the underserved population
target strategy.
8) Assess
business and educator needs in the Convergence Lab and ensure appropriate
remote and on-site lab access through effective scheduling and planning.
9) Develop
a marketing plan that includes managing the promotion and distribution of CTC
products including distribution of curriculum, software tools and case studies,
etc. Create a pool of conference speakers,
coordinate webinars and provide speakers for Convergence Technology sessions
at conferences. Coordinate the creation and maintenance of the CTC website.
10) Oversee
the ongoing planning and evaluation of Convergence Technology Center
initiatives, detailing measurable outcomes.
11) Investigate
successful NSF Centers of Excellence in order to develop strategies to evolve
the Convergence Technology Center into a best-in-class model.
Marginal Job
Functions:
Assist
with training CTC staff/faculty.
Participate
in an on-going program of professional self-development, including the
establishment of annual objectives mutually determined with the principal
investigator.

Education and
Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally
accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years related work experience including
project or program management in a technical area.
Or
Any equivalent
combination of education and experience.
