TITLE: Associate Dean, Weekend College – Evening Administrator, SCC

FUNCTION: Responsibility for the
Weekend College and serve as the evening administrator for the Spring Creek
Campus
REPORTS TO:
Spring Creek Campus Provost
SUPERVISES: Assist in the onsite
supervision of evening and
weekend faculty and staff.
NOTE: The scheduled hours for this
position will be weekdays up until 10 p.m. and Saturdays.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job
Functions:
1)
Serve as the
administrator for the Weekend College.
2)
Serve as the evening
administrator for the Spring Creek Campus.
3) Develop and implement an administrative
coverage-staffing plan for Monday evenings at the Spring Creek Campus
4) Liaison with the Provosts, Vice President of Academic
Affairs, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Student Development on
issues related to evening and Weekend College programs and services.
5) Work collaboratively with the Provosts and Academic
Deans to plan and schedule a comprehensive offering of evening, weekend and
summer classes.
6) Review and analyze data and prepare recommendations
to develop and improve evening and Weekend College programs and services.
7) Assist the Provosts with orientation and professional
development programs for associate faculty.
8) Assist in the evaluation of faculty teaching in
evening and weekend classes as requested.
9) Make appropriate referrals to the Dean of Students
for disciplinary issues and issue an immediate suspension when necessary.
10) Provide signature authority in the absence of the
Dean/Registrar for assigned functions.
11) Make appropriate calls/referrals in counseling and
emergency matters that need immediate attention.
12) Assist in the development, review and proofing of the
college catalog, brochures and other college publications, as related to
evening and weekend programs.
Marginal Functions:
Work with department chairs,
as needed, concerning problems with associate faculty and students.
Provide an effective two-way
channel of communication between administration and faculty/staff as well as
lateral communication on behalf of the division.
Assist with planning,
development and promoting ways and means for improving instruction and
instructional services.
Assist in the formulation of
college policies and procedures, especially those affecting evening and weekend
programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
Broad knowledge of higher
education policies, principles and organization.
Knowledge
of leadership and management techniques and skills.
Knowledge,
skill, and ability in the budget development and implementation process.
Knowledge
of Student Due Process, ADA compliance standards, and FERPA.
Knowledge of policy
formulation and analysis methods to establish practical policies and provide
effective guidance in decision making.
Strong written and spoken
communication skills with the ability to establish personal and professional
credibility with both internal and external constituents.
Ability to actively listen
and demonstrate understanding.
Ability to analyze and evaluate
outcomes and effectiveness of projects/programs.
Ability to generate and
identify opportunities to improve present programs and/or operations.
Ability to keep up-to-date on changes in technology and provide
recommendations regarding the direction of the College's strategic plan.
Decision
making, time management, goal setting, and planning abilities necessary.
Ability to meet deadlines
for assigned reports and projects.
Ability to perform all the
essential functions of this job.
Education and
Experience:
Education: Master's degree from a regionally
accredited institution.
Experience: Four (4) years
experience in combined administrative and teaching experience in higher
education.
