FUNCTION: Program
planning, development, implementation, and administration; evaluation of
professional, technical and personal development training needs of community,
business and industry; course trends for program areas. Interview, hire,
supervise faculty, and coordinate faculty development. Interface with the Continuing Education team
in planning, operations and evaluating of Continuing Education programs. The primary emphasis of this position is to
take training to business and industry.

MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Functions
1) Responsible
for determining/assessing new and continuing non-credit classes to be offered
in the Schedule of Classes printed three times a year.
2) Maintain
knowledge of community and business resources, market demands/trends in all
program areas through personal, telephone and on-site contact.
3) Oversee
production of Continuing Education Schedule of Classes which is published three
times a year.
4) Responsible,
in areas w/o support of PDA, for preparing contracts for teaching and
non-teaching agreements; Schedule Builder input, cancellations and changes; and
book orders.
5) Submit classes
for schedule building in a timely fashion in accordance with the calendar for
schedule building.
6) Plan and
initiate action strategies in promotion of courses and programs that are cost
effective and timely (may include press releases, letters to organizations,
distribution of class schedules to new locations, flyers to target mailing
lists and brochures).
7) Review and
analyze statistical data to determine possible changes in service, promotion,
distribution and cost of workshops, seminars and conferences.
8) Assist with
the review of all course and faculty evaluations and make recommendations for
rehiring or dismissing each semester.
9) Oversee
classroom-instructional materials needs for all sites; ensure that compliance
is maintained in accordance with all respective sources, (ie; copyright laws,
software licensure agreements.
10) Review
resumes, conduct interviews and hire faculty, workshop, and seminar leaders.
11) Supervise
part-time faculty each semester.
Marginal Job
Functions
Ensure
students receive correct supply list and any other supplemental material.
Secure
all necessary information so that Coordinating Board course approval forms may
be completed for reimbursable training presentations.
Submit
approval forms for eligible Coordinating Board reimbursement for courses
developed during the planning cycle, at least six weeks prior to the class
starting date.
Maintain
timely telephone contact with faculty to be apprised of enrollment, obtain
feed-back and review student evaluations.
Attend
staff meetings and program development sessions.
Assist
Continuing Education team in training program director assistants.
Develop
an effective method of updating skills and acquiring new ones (may include
reading, attending meetings, attending in-service training, additional school,
information sharing sessions, etc).
Assist
faculty in developing course outlines and syllabus’ as well as other materials
needed for brochures and marketing.
Maintain
close contact with the ARO staff and be familiar with registration procedures.
Develop
program areas to provide comprehensive well-rounded courses and allow for
professional development and growth of customers.

to maintain familiarity with CCCCD policies and procedures, including
Continuing Education guidelines and directives and ensure compliance of same.

of CCCCD ’s performance
appraisal process--how to evaluate the performance and qualifications of the
employee.

Education: Associates
degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience: Four
(4) years directly related experience
OR
Any equivalent combination of training
and experience.
