FUNCTION: Develop and direct a
comprehensive plan for Recruitment and Programs for New Students, and for
building relationships and partnerships with Middle School-12 education.
Coordinate district-wide orientation & mentor program, designed to increase
student success.
REPORTS TO: Vice President for Student Development
SUPERVISES: Outreach Coordinator, Coordinator, Programs for
New Students, Vocational and Technical Recruiting Coordinator, Special
Admissions Coordinator/Advisor, Division Secretary, Global EDGE Tech Prep
Consortium, and Destination College Coordinator.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job
Functions
1) Provide
leadership for the Recruitment and Programs for New Students staff. Supervise staff, including: hiring, training
and development, performance evaluations, and termination, when necessary. Develop and manage
department, Global Edge, and
2) Coordinate
course offerings, orientation, registration, and tracking for special
admissions students including concurrent/dual credit high school students, home
school students and students under 18 without a high school diploma or
GED.
3) Direct
district’s new student programs, including new student orientation, mentoring,
Spectrum Student Ambassadors, and other programs designed to increase student
retention and success.
4) Develop
and direct a comprehensive plan building relationships and partnerships with
Middle School-12 education. Coordinate college services for community based
organizations as needs are identified throughout the District’s county and
service area.
5) Work
closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Deans and Program Chairs
on scheduling courses and recruiting faculty for dual credit classes.
Coordinate off-site services for orientations, registrations, and other college
services, as the needs are identified throughout the district’s service area.
6) Provide
leadership and direction to the Global Edge Tech Prep Consortium and all of the
Destination college initiatives and programs.
7) Provide
leadership in maintaining a viable Regional Consortium for College Readiness
consisting of school district and college representatives from Collin’s service
area to provide guidance on regional college readiness needs.
8) In
coordination with the Dean of Developmental Education, provide leadership in
the development of innovative programs for students to develop college-level
skills in reading, writing, math, and English as a Second Language.
9) Direct
a prospect tracking and follow up system designed to provide timely information
to individuals, groups and the college leadership. Coordinate tracking and reports for feedback
to local Independent School Districts with the Institutional Research Office.
10) Along
with the Director of Public Relations, coordinate the development of brochures,
promotions, publications, a marketing plan for Collin programs through
Recruitment and Programs for New Students.
11) Assist
in development of recruitment strategies by determining the effectiveness of
various outreach efforts in comparison to local demographics.
12) Work
with the Institutional Research Office on collecting, analyzing and
disseminating retention data for the district.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills,
and Abilities
Knowledge of departmental policies,
procedures and practices with the ability to answer work-related questions
and/or interpret and apply these policies and procedures correctly in various
situations.
Knowledge of effective customer service
techniques with the ability to present one's self and the college in a positive
and professional manner.
Knowledge of interviewing techniques
and methods.
Knowledge
of performance appraisal processes to evaluate the performance and
qualifications of the employee in terms of the requirements of the job for
which he/she is employed.
Knowledge of techniques for identifying
problems and determining the most appropriate course of action for their
resolution.
Knowledge of microcomputers and basic
word processing, software and data manipulation (spreadsheet) applications.
Knowledge
of business English, spelling punctuation, and effective letter writing
practices.
Skill to effectively negotiate

communication to support effective interaction with various levels of the
district, faculty, staff, and other outside parties.

Education and
Experience
Education: Master's degree, from a
regionally accredited institution in education, student services/personnel,
marketing, business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of three years college
admission, marketing or student development experience. Personal computer skills
with Windows word processing and spreadsheet applications.
