FUNCTION: To perform diversified
administrative/secretarial duties; coordinate
functions required for the efficient operation of Information Technology and its departments.
REPORTS TO: Chief Information Systems Officer

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
1) Provide support functions to assist CISO with Budget development. Provide budget analysis of Administrative Programming Services, Operating Systems, Academic Computing Services, Telecommunications and Web Services upon CISO’s request. Input personnel and operating expense in the Budget Development System as needed. Enter and track departmental and divisional requisitions in the Buyspeed Purchasing System.
2) Act as a link between the Chief Information systems Officer
and other college departments ensuring that information flows in and out in an
accurate and timely manner.
3) At the direction of the Chief Information Systems Officer,
communicate instructions, resolve complaints and/or notify the appropriate area
for problem resolution.
4) Research, assemble, revise and record current technology
related projects for inclusion in the District’s Technology plans.
5) Manage day-to-day office functions and administrative
processes without direct supervision.
6) Maintain calendar, answer telephone, sort and distribute
mail. Verify that all details have been accomplished in preparation for
meetings, business trips and training sessions.
7) Document and process leave forms, local travel, time sheets,
bookstore charges, petty cash, professional leave and travel for the Chief
Information Systems Officer and the Web Services Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge
of microcomputers and basic/advanced word processing software, data base and
data manipulation applications.
Knowledge
of department and college policies, procedures and practices with the ability
to answer work related questions.
Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge
of the college's budget preparation procedures and practices.
Ability
to determine appropriate expenditures for budgeted funds to meet departments
objective and goals.
Ability
to perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to
established practices, procedures, techniques, philosophies, and standards with
minimal supervision.
Ability
to independently identify and undertake additional tasks to be accomplished.
Oral
and written skills to convey ideas, facts, and information effectively and
accurately to students, staff, faculty and the general public.
Ability
to write in complete sentences using appropriate words, correct grammar,
punctuation, and spelling.
Ability
to listen actively and demonstrate understanding.
Ability
to maintain restrain and keep calm when faced with interpersonal conflict
and/or emotional or angry individuals.
Ability
to perform all the essential functions of this job.
Education and Experience:
Education: Associate's degree (Bachelor's
desired) from a regionally
accredited institution, in a related field.
Experience: Three years directly related experience. Demonstrated strong
written and oral communication skills and the ability to relate well to students, staff and the general public. Ability to use a personal computer and various software including: word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications.

Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
