FUNCTION: Perform
accounting functions related to Collin County Community College District
Foundation, Inc. ensuring compliance with regulations and laws, and providing
for accuracy of transactions and financial statements. To perform reconciliation and analysis of
payroll transactions on HRS and FRS including salaries, wages, benefits, taxes,
etc. and various related reports.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
1) Maintain
accounting records, perform cash management, account analysis and compilation
of quarterly/annual financial reports for the Collin County Community College
District Foundation, Inc.
2) Prepare
IRS form 990 annually for the CCCCD Foundation and the CCCCDF Student Housing
Foundation.
3) Prepare
monthly reconciliation and analysis of HRS and FRS salary object code charges.
4) Prepare
the journal entry for the monthly medical insurance accrual.
5)
Assist with preparation of audit schedules, financial
statements and statistical data related to the annual audit and Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
6)
Maintain financial information for College Place Student Housing.
7)
Prepare schedules and statements for CCCCD Foundation and
CCCCDF Student Housing Foundation audit.
8)
Maintain Value-Based Security codes for the FRS system.
9)
Review check requests for sufficient funds and that
appropriate invoices are attached.
10)
Prepare monthly report of Payroll wire transfers for the A/P
Board Report.

Serve as back-up to other Staff Accountants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of fund accounting.
Knowledge of policy formulation.
Knowledge of current accounting principles (GASB &
FASB).
Knowledge of financial analysis techniques for assessing the
financial condition of the District.
Knowledge of reconciliation procedures with the ability to
reconcile accounts.
Knowledge of problem-solving techniques for identifying
problems, researching and determining the most appropriate course of action for
their resolution.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques with the
ability to present one's self and the college in a positive and professional
manner.
Knowledge of time management techniques with the ability to
organize, schedule, assign, delegate, coordinate, and monitor the work to
accomplish the most possible in the time available.
Knowledge of business English, spelling punctuation, and
effective letter writing practices.
Knowledge of microcomputers and basic word processing,
software and data manipulation (spreadsheet) applications.
Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with various
levels within the college and the general public.
Oral and written communication skills to support effective
interaction with various levels of the district, faculty, staff, and other
outside parties.
Skill in proofreading materials to ensure accuracy.
Skill to effectively plan work activities, schedules,
priorities and utilization of resources.
Skill to research information, identify relevant facts and
derive logical conclusions.
Ability to perform all the essential functions of this
position.
Ability to interpret and implement applicable federal,
state, and local regulations.
Ability to apply general accounting principles to analyze
financial information and prepare financial reports.
Ability to meet deadlines
for assigned reports and projects.
Ability to deal in a fair and courteous manner with a
variety of individuals.
Ability to work independently and make independent judgments.
Ability to work with constant/extreme noise or
interruptions.
Ability to follow an
activity through from conception to implementation without loss of continuity.
Ability to use a calculator and computer.
Ability to bend, stoop,
squat to file or retrieve files (reports).
Ability to push, pull, drag, lift and carry reports and
ledgers of up to 40 pounds.
Ability to perform all the essential functions of this
position.
Education
and Experience:
Education: Bachelors Degree, prefer a major in Accounting,
with a minimum 18 hours from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience: Five (5) years of accounting
experience plus knowledge of computerized accounting systems. Ability to analyze financial information,
prepare financial reports and reconcile various accounts. Experience in higher education desired. Detail-oriented and good organizational
skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral
and written skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty,
and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Fund accounting and experience directly
related to grants and contracts is desired.
