Bowman Middle School Science
Outreach
Purpose:
To offer students and faculty the opportunity to explore science at the college
level through workshops, teacher faculty conferences and an annual Science Day.
Assorted math and science mini-classes are taught by Collin faculty.
How is the committee selected?
Interested staff and faculty may volunteer.

Purpose:
Annual event sponsored by Career Services and Co-op with assistance from
departments such as Student Life and Counseling Services.
The purpose is to provide students and area residents with information
and insights into the career development process by offering:
· Activities
that heighten awareness of the importance of career planning and the resources
available at Collin.
· Panels
and campus speakers on occupations/professions
· Outside
speakers to present career planning and workplace topics
· Workshops/seminars
on how to choose a college major and job search strategies

Purpose:
To host the annual chili cook-off in November, which is a fundraiser for
Back-to-School and holiday programs.

To promote teamwork, career awareness and excellence in student electronic
design, engineering and CAB design through a half day of faculty and industry
judged competition.

Purpose:
To plan and implement a reception to recognize selected students who have
demonstrated a commitment to learning and academic excellence.

Appointed by deans and the chairperson.
